CASS Manager/Senior Manager
Job description
We are looking to recruit a CASS Audit Manager/Senior Manager to deliver the effective completion of CASS Audits (reasonable assurance and limited assurance engagements), coach and train the audit team, and ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
We are actively building out Financial Services practice, to fulfil the market potential that Johnston Carmichael has in the UK. Our longer-term goal is to also provide CASS advisory services, providing development opportunities to attract new clients, together with opportunities for staff to develop their careers.
We are flexible on location within the central belt of Scotland, however, would consider other Scottish locations in a commutable distance to our offices.
Responsibilities
- Planning and managing the effective, professional, and efficient delegation, flow-through, and completion of CASS Audits.
- Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of CASS and related FCA regulations.
- Assisting the Audit Partners and Directors with CASS Audit planning work and internal reporting.
- Providing CASS technical and CASS Audit planning support to clients.
- Working closely with the audit team to ensure audit work is managed efficiently and effectively from start to finish and is undertaken in accordance with Johnston Carmichael's Audit policy and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Johnston Carmichael colleagues at all levels.
- Being the principal contact for clients on day-to-day audit matters.
- Building effective working relationships with client staff at all levels.
- Managing and supporting audit staff to achieve their goals and objectives ensuring they are developing their CASS skills and capabilities.
- Acting as an ambassador for Johnston Carmichael.
About you
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent)
- Experience in leading CASS Audits is essential
- Strong technical knowledge of CASS and understanding of key current issues and regulatory developments facing CASS Audit clients
- Strong industry knowledge, ideally within wealth and investment management
- Experience working on a range of CASS governance, risk, and operational frameworks, including monitoring and control testing
- A leader of your own work and your professional learning
- Practical experience of using software systems in the preparation of audit files, and audit working papers. Full training will be given on all software packages
- Ability to budget and manage audit finances
- The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and be pro-active in their approach to their work
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact, influence, and manage others.
